Step 1: Calculate your Carbon Footprint

Use this calculation to estimate the amount of CO2 produced by your home and your automobile(s). Enter the quantities that best represent your annual usage in each of the indicated areas. Then click on the Calculate button. As a reference, each year a typical EMC home in Georgia uses about 15000 kWh of electricity, about 880 therms of natural gas and about 1120 gallons of gasoline. Your usage may vary.

Please select a level of participation that will help offset some or your entire carbon footprint. You may either enter your participation level on form 2A “Standard Participation Levels” or on form 2B “Custom Participation Level”.

**Typically one acre of pine forest will sequestor about 4 tons of C02 each year. The actaul tons of C02 sequestored per acre of forest will vary. See "how much of C02 can a tree store?" This number will be reviewed and adjusted annually based on the actual sequestration rates of the forests used in the program.
